What is the COVID-19 Symptom Friendly Imaging Center?
As of Monday, April 27th 2020, our West Hartford location will be a dedicated COVID-19 symptom friendly imaging center, offering imaging to patients who are either under investigation for COVID-19, are symptomatic with a cough, fever or shortness of breath or are in the recovery phase of the illness.
Please note that we are not seeing active COVID-19 patients. Patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days and have a fever, cough or shortness of breath need to be seen in a hospital radiology department.

What exams are being offered?

Are you diagnosing COVID-19?
Although we cannot diagnose or test for COVID-19, we can help rule out the illness using CT scan or x-ray imaging. A referring physician order is required for these exams. If you believe you may have COVID-19, please call your regular physician.
Are you treating active COVID-19 patients?
Unfortunately, no. This center is to provide imaging services to those who are experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough or shortness of breath but have not tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days and have a fever, cough or shortness of breath need to be seen in a hospital radiology department.
How do I know if the center is right for me?
Patients who meet the following criteria can schedule an appointment at our West Hartford center. Please note that patients who do not meet one of the below criteria cannot be seen in this location and need to be scheduled in another Jefferson Radiology office.

- You’ve had a fever, cough or shortness of breath within the last 14 days.
- You’ve traveled in or outside the US in the last 14 days. (applies to both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients)
- You’ve come into contact with a person who is under investigation or known to have COVID-19, but you are not symptomatic.
- You tested negative for COVID-19 over 14 days ago but are now experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath.
- You have pending results for a COVID -19 test and are experiencing fever, cough or shortness of breath.
- You have been discharged for COVID-19 and you have experienced a fever, cough or shortness of breath in the last 14 days.
- You have not been tested for COVID-19 but you’ve been asked by a physician to quarantine for 14 days.
- You are experiencing fever, cough or shortness of breath and your physician suspects a COVID-19 infection.

What steps are you taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19?
Jefferson Radiology has put into place a series of critical safety measures to protect our patients and staff from the risk of spread. These includes:
- All staff and patients will be masked in the facility.
- We are extensively cleaning rooms and equipment in between exams using products that are effective against COVID-19.
- Thoughtfully planning out scheduling to ensure effective social distancing.
How are you protecting patients?
Jefferson Radiology continues to exceed CDC guidelines for cleaning, sterilization and patient flow. Below are the steps we are taking to protect patients & staff:

- All staff and patients will be masked in the facility.
- We are limiting the schedule to ensure effective disinfecting measures in-between all patient appointments.
- Visitor wait-in-vehicle requirements.
- All staff receive COVID-19 screening prior to work.
