1. You Need A Radiologist
Your provider has determined that they need more information about your condition – they need to see what’s going on inside. They have ordered an imaging exam for you, and the type of exam will depend on your situation.
2. Your Insurance
We work hand in hand with your provider’s office in order to obtain any pre-authorizations that may be required by your insurance company. insurance carriers often require pre-authorizations for imaging exams, which can include clinical information concerning your medical condition and, sometimes, details about prior treatments.
3. Scheduling Your Imaging Exam
When calling to schedule your appointment with Jefferson Radiology, we provide you with the information you need to prepare for your imaging exam. It is important to address any medical concerns at this time.
4. Your Appointment
Jefferson Radiology offers a full spectrum of imaging and diagnostic procedures in nine outpatient centers across the Hartford area. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted by a dedicated front desk staff and then invited by a technologist to come in for your exam. The technologist will guide you through the exam and answer any concerns you may have.
5. Your Results
Once your imaging exam is complete, your images will be interpreted by one of our sub-specialized radiologists. The radiologist will interpret and diagnose your condition as well as recommend next steps which may include additional imaging exams. The radiologist works hand in hand with your referring provider to ensure you receive the care you need.
6. Your Diagnosis
The diagnosis stage of a medical journey can be one of the most critical moments in a patients life. We understand this and are intimately acquainted with the challenges a patient faces during this time. We work closely with your referring physician to ease these challenges and work diligently to ensure you feel comfortable, safe and understand the next steps in your medical journey.
7. Accessing Your Results
By accessing Jefferson Radiology’s patient portal located on our website, your results once they are posted are available to you 24/7. There are many additional resources available on this portal including upcoming and past appointments, past imaging reports and the option to pay your bill online.
